Congratulations to Summer and Khushi (both Year 13) who achieved Second Place overall and Highly Commended respectively in the Bangkok Essay Competition 2020 that took place during Lockdown earlier this year.
Both Summer and Khushi received valuable feedback from the Chief Judge, Dr Thitinan Pongsudhirak, an associate professor and director of the Institute of Security and International Studies at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Political Science. You can see some of Dr Thitinan’s feedback on Summer’s essay in this video.
The Calendar below now shows the last four weeks of term.
This week we continue with Key Stage 3 Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings. After these, we will seek feedback on all this term’s online Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings.
In two week's time, we will be closed on both Monday 7th December (the original compensation day for National Father's Day) and Thursday 10th December (Constitution Day). In that week we will also swap Tuesday to Monday's timetable and Wednesday to Friday's timetable to balance up the numbers of each day of the week that we have had this term. This will not affect any remaining Activities.
During the week after that, the last week of Term 1, we will host both our Christmas Production and our traditional Christmas Fair and Concert, though this year this will be a series of physically distanced Christmas Concerts. More details will be shared in next week’s Newsletter.
Please remember that all the school's Google Calendars can be seen via Moodle: calendar.standrews.ac.th
Mr Roo
Head of High School
As part of the St Andrews Careers programme, Year 10 and Year 12 students had the valuable opportunity to hear from 20 industry professionals, including alumni, about various career pathways. The morning panel discussions provided insights into professional routes, required qualifications, and essential interpersonal skills for workplace success.
As Term 3 comes to an end, three senior students, Eleonore, Natalie, and Ananya, reflect on their experiences in the IB Diploma Programme at St Andrews International School Bangkok. Perhaps one of the most meaningful projects Ananya and Natalie took on during their senior studies was starting a foundation with a few other friends called Today4tomorrow – an initiative to provide opportunities to underprivileged girls in Thailand.
