Welcome to the last of our new teachers, and a look ahead to some of the events taking place this week and next.
It was great to see so many parents at last week’s Parents’ Information Evenings. I hope that my presentation, as well as the ones from Mr Andrew, Mr Keith and your child's Head of Year were useful, and I know that you all really enjoyed meeting your son/daughter's Tutors. Tutors will have already shared their presentations, and Heads of Year will also be sharing their presentation, along with mine, Mr Andrew’s and Mr Keith’s. Also, links to a video of these presentations will be made available for any parents who were unable to attend. We are all looking forward to the last of these Parents’ Information Evenings, for parents of students in Years 12 and 13, on Tuesday 1 September.
Welcome to St Andrews Ms Ceris, Mr Gary P, Ms Kelly, Ms Liz, Ms May, Ms Milene, Mr Rich, Ms Sasha and Mr Zay!
Today we welcomed those new teachers who have been in quarantine for the last two weeks to the High School. As I wrote in last week’s Newsletter, we have been very fortunate to have been able to have fully qualified temporary teachers for all of their classes, but it was lovely to see how happy our new teachers were to finally be in school, and how happy the students were to see their new teachers, as I gave them a tour of the High School earlier today.
With these teachers now in school, the phased easing of some of our physical distancing measures and the restart of important parts in the life of the school like our Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme whose signups start on Saturday, our Aladdin performances (next week) and field trips, it really feels like we are starting to, as the Bangkok Post described it, approach normalcy.
While many events are still not confirmed for the second half of this term, a pdf calendar of all the events taking place in the five weeks between now and half-term is now available in the Parents’ Handbook on Moodle.
Please remember that Friday this week and Monday next week were recently announced as national holidays. The revised School Calendar for the year, showing that we are now teaching on Monday 1st February and Tuesday 6th April (Chakri Day), is available to download from the school’s website.
Please also remember that all the school's Google Calendars, which are updated as soon as the details of any event changes, can be seen via Moodle, and by using this very easy to remember url: calendar.standrews.ac.th. On this webpage you can also add any of the school’s Google Calendars to your personal Google Calendar if you have a Google account.
