Year 13 successfully completed their final practical exam and IGCSE students enjoyed a classic production of Romeo and Juliet.
As part of IB Theatre Arts, all higher level students create a solo performance. This performance is influenced by a chosen theatre practitioner and students are graded on their comprehension of their chosen practitioner realised through practical work. This year students demonstrated not only great talent but excellent interpretive skills, they kept their audience engaged throughout.
In Drama we work hard to expose students to live theatre, this is often a challenge in Bangkok so when we heard TNT from the UK were touring with Romeo and Juliet we jumped at the opportunity! This week we took a group of IGCSE students and enthusiastic Year 9 students to Alliance Française to watch the production which was quite a traditional approach to Shakespeare. It was an excellent performance and allowed the students to experience contrasting work and look at how they can stage productions in preparation for their exams.
St Andrews High School Drama Department is very pleased to present this year’s KS3 Winter Production of ‘A Christmas Carol’. Our students have been working very hard over this term and the result is a delightful and surprising interpretation of this classic tale by Charles Dickens. We are very lucky to have been helped out by a number of Year 10, 12 and 13 Directors and Designers who have contributed an enormous amount of creativity and showed a great deal of commitment. Tickets are now on sale to the cast and crew at the Accounting window in the school office. From Thursday onwards they will be on sale to everyone. There are two performances on Wednesday 5th December, including a 1pm Matinee for parents and a 4pm performance for everyone. We are also delighted to welcome the cast of ‘Shrek’ from Primary to watch a dress run through on the morning of Wednesday 5th.

Students at St Andrews International School Bangkok have begun an exciting artificial intelligence project: integrating Nord Anglia’s “Misty the Robot” with conversational AI model, ChatGPT. Under the guidance of our Head of Robotics, Mr Rob Parker, they recently presented their results to Regional Managing Director, Mr Shaun Williams, as well as the Board of Directors at St Andrews, with the proposition of growing this project as a collaborative research venture across Nord Anglia schools.
