New Year 10 Art and Photography students settle in with some amazing work.
This year brings in a record number of year 10 GCSE students to the St Andrews International School Bangkok Art department. With almost 70 students having opted for Art or Photography, we now have 4 groups of young creatives. Already we are seeing some beautiful artwork being produced. Our young artists have been refamiliarising themselves with a variety of media, making experimental drawings from photographs of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Our photographers have been getting to know Photoshop and have been creating dynamic digital collages using views of the High School campus and their own cityscapes.
Our artist of the week is Grape in year 10, whose Angkor Wat drawing uses a diverse range of media to capture the textures of the building’s age.
With the goal of providing meaningful help to the flood victims in the northern regions of Thailand, our entire community at St Andrews Bangkok came together to raise funds and donations for the affected families. In the span of a few short weeks, added to donations of food and clothing, we managed to raise an astounding total of 386,676.50 THB in donation funds. To all students, teachers, parents, and staff who participated in our efforts and contributed to this cause—thank you!
