Volleyball

We’re hosting a TISAC Invitational JV Boys Volleyball Festival next Tuesday 21 May from 3.00 p.m. This is a chance for our boys to have their first competitive experience before we hopefully enter them in BISAC next year.

Please feel free to come and support.

Next month, we’ll be having a final event featuring our girls and boys teams, our parent team and a staff team. It should be a lot of fun!

Basketball

Over the weekend, over 30 STA students entered the Youth Basketball Thailand Summer League. This is a quality basketball tournament with strong academy teams taking part, and some of the ballers were top level.

We had three complete teams independently entered, as well as lots of other ballers representing other academies. Our U15 Boys team, as well as a U13 Boys team with some ballers from ASB, were both champions, and Kaillum (Y10) and Jae-Sun (Y8) were voted MVPs of their divisions. Jump, Mos and Oakley all made the mythical team for their division too.

It was great to see so many of our own students getting involved in basketball. Well done to them all. Thank you to Coach Leo for giving up his weekend to coach.

FNG#3 and Flames U11 3on3

At the end of this week, we have our third Friday ‘Night’ Game and 3on3 Championships., featuring the U11s.

On Friday, we’re hosting BISP and Tara Patana (Pattaya) in two mixed games (girls and boys playing together). There’ll be dance from our PS and HS squads, music and drums. We’ll also get to watch an exhibition game between our coaches and the U15 boys.

Tickets are available from Mr Ollie or on the door. All proceeds go towards Tanzania. The students will be selling smoothies to raise funds too.

On Saturday, several schools and academy teams will come together for our 3on3 championships. This will feature lots of quick 3on3 games throughout the day and we have over 40 of own U11 ballers entered.

Both of these events are at High School. Please feel free to come and support. We’re keen for sport to be enjoyed by more than just the participants themselves and we’re sure the action will be entertaining!

  • FNG#3: 3.00 - 6.00 p.m.
  • 3on3: 8.00 a.m.- 4.00p.m.

Train to Play - Summer Camp

From Monday 1 – Friday 5 July we are offering STA students the opportunity to improve fitness, performance and mindset at a 5 day sports camp.

Each camp is sport specific and will give valuable takeaway skills on the 4 pillars of success (Training, Nutrition, Mindset and Recovery).

We are working with health, fitness and well-being professionals from across Bangkok, as well as a sports coaching team well known to your children, to give the complete athlete experience.

These camps are perfect for anyone wanting to:

  • Have fun and stay active in the summer holidays.

  • Improve health, fitness & performance.

  • Learn skills and techniques to apply in their own training and at home.

Keep in touch

Please stay up-to-date by joining our STA Flames & Marlins Facebook closed group for parents and students who are part of our Sports Programme.

As it’s a closed group not open to the general public, please complete the questions so that we know if you’re part of our STA community.

Parents may post to this group and it’s been great to see some of your photos of our kids in action!
