Our used books sale was a great success … Scholastic Book orders have arrived … Creative Table Activities galore … and the Books of the Week.
A BIG thank you!
Our used books sale was a great success thanks to you all for donating your books and coming along to buy both new and used books. The counting has now been completed and we are very happy to share the totals with you below.
We will be keeping the Used Books Sale going this week right up until Thursday lunchtime, when ‘Train Kitty’ and Doctors Pup and Tuktan arrive, so PLEASE DO come in and pick up a bargain as we would like to clear ALL the books for a donation now and we really do want to raise as much money as possible. With this in mind, if you would like to make an additional donation to this fantastic cause please pop in to the Library and see us with your cash. Many thanks for your kind support.
We are delighted that the famous ‘Train Kitty’ will be bringing Doctors Pup and Tuktan from PAWS Bangkok to visit us in the Library over lunchtime this coming Thursday, 6 December to receive our donation. They will explain just what PAWS does and how we can help them more in the future. Some ideas to consider are:
Arrange for your class to ‘adopt’ a cat who needs support with long-term care at the centre
Cats and kittens are always available for adoption at the centre - you can arrange a visit
Follow PAWS on Facebook to keep up with news PAWS Bangkok
Make a donation at any time via bank transfer to:
Account number: 096-062720-6
Name: AMY ANN BARON
Bank: Bangkok Bank
Branch: Emporium
Visit the PAWS stall at The Farmers Market, Gateway, Ekkamai every 2 weeks (1st and 3rd weekend of the month) when they are always in need of volunteers, so if you have some spare time and would like to help out contact volunteer@pawsbangkok.org - No experience is necessary!
‘Train Kitty’ will be here in the PS Library from 11.40 am. - 1.00 p.m. so through both the KS1 and KS2 lunch times and we will be inviting the Foundation Stage teachers to bring their children to come and meet him in between at 12.20 p.m.
The ordered books have now arrived (whoop!) and, once processed, we will distribute them to classes as quickly as possible over the coming week. If you are leaving early for the holidays please do let us know asap so that we can process your orders first.
Please note that the Primary School Library will close early at 3.00 p.m. on Thursday 13 December and will NOT be open on the last day of term, Friday 14 December, due to the annual Merit Making ceremony. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and please do plan to return all finished books and choose your new books for the holidays before 3.00 p.m. on Thursday. We are now date stamping books for 7 January onward to cover the extended break.Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Today we were delighted to have Ms Marie and the choir singing carols in the Library whilst the children adorned the tree with the decorations they have made over the last week. Needless to say we are all feeling very festive.
This week the children will be making and decorating their own beautiful Christmas card designs and thinking of special wishes to hang on our magical Wishing Tree.
We hope you enjoy our selections for 'Books of the Week'. The younger children (PB) will love Mog the Cat and his Adventures whilst our primary fiction (PF) choices will entertain and challenge readers in the 5+ and 8+ categories. Our nonfiction choice (PNF) gives one hundred amazing facts about Rainforests.
