Primary Busking Week showcases the fantastic talent of our Primary School students and raises and incredible amount of money for charity while our High School Music Department is busy preparing for “REC-I-TAL” and invites parents to attend a relaxing concert on Wednesday.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in Busking Week last week. There was so much talent on show before school and at break times and everyone really enjoyed walking around and seeing what was going on. Well done also to all those who donated some money. The grand total raised over the whole week was an amazing 23, 464 Baht! This money will be going to help the Central Thailand Mission with their projects.
WELL DONE EVERYONE!
This Thursday, eighteen Year 6 and Year 6 students from St Andrews International School Bangkok will be travelling to Singapore to take part in the FOBISIA Primary Music Festival. Some instrumentalists will be working as part of the FOBISIA Primary Orchestra to learn some wonderful repertoire and 4 of our singers will sing with the choir. On Sunday they will be performing in a Celebration Concert which should be “out of this world” as the theme for this year is ‘Space’. Good luck to all our young musicians on this exciting adventure.
This week, we enjoyed listening to the wonderful tone of Ben Moermond’s Bassoon in school. At Primary he worked with Years 5 and 6, Reception, Years 1 and 2 and performed a concert for STA Sing and parents at the end of the day. It was a real treat to see and hear a bassoon up close right here in school and an incredible experience to hear a world class player performing just for us.
At High School Ben delivered a series of workshops to our KS3 students and to our Music students in KS 4 and 5. A highlight of Ben’s High School visit was the amazing concert he performed at lunchtime on Thursday in the Atrium..
On Wednesday 21 March 2018 the Music Department is proud to present “REC-I-TAL”. This evening concert will reflect some of the great solo and small ensemble work of our students. Please join us for this relaxing and intimate concert which will start at 4.00 p.m. in the Jo Adamson Theatre.
