From my office in the T Block I have been hearing the songs from Daisy and The Seed for a couple of weeks now, but in Friday’s Assembly we finally got to enjoy an amazing spectacle as Year 1 performed their show for us.
It linked in beautifully with their topic and was the perfect way to show how much the children have matured and grown in confidence as we move through the final term. With all of the children speaking so clearly and some great acting and dancing on display, it was certainly one of the highlights of the Assembly Year.
It was also an opportunity for us to say goodby to Khun May, who is relocating with her young family to another part of Thailand. Miss Emma, who has worked with Khun May for a number of years gave her a bouquet of flowers and helped us to say thank you and goodbye.
Year 2 found out a little bit more about fish on Friday afternoon - through quite an unexpected source! You may remember that around Friday lunchtime we had some quite heavy rain. Sometimes when this happens we get fish from the klong swimming up the drains along the side of our football field, but they can’t always find their way out.
Luckily two of these fish were spotted by some sharp-eyed Y2 children who managed, with the help of Miss Helen, to get them into a container. The two fish, (by now called Joey and Michelle) were then carried back to the main klong drain by Mr Geoff and released back into their natural habitat - not before they had caused a stir by jumping out of the box a couple of times and hopping across the grass - it seems that they were walking perch!
Khun Ong from the Estates Team promised to keep an eye on the drain to make sure they don’t come back for another visit.
Quite an exciting end to a wet Friday afternoon.
