MEDICATION GUIDELINES

Daily Medications

Stock over-the-counter medications can be found on the Magnus health portal and all parents can electronically sign giving permission. Other over-the-counter medications not listed but required by the student can be documented on the Medication Form provided in Magnus health portal. 

All medications are given in accordance with the packaging label on the product, by age and weight appropriate strengths. 

All medication kept in the health office must be brought to the clinic by the parent, in the original container (no ziplock bags), whether over the counter or prescription.

Students are not permitted to have medication in their possession except those in Middle and High school who require inhalers, EpiPens, or Diabetic Medication. Permission is granted once an individualized health plan is completed with a physician's statement confirming the student is competent to do so. Additional inhalers, EpiPens and emergency Diabetic medications should be kept in the clinic as well.

Action Plans for Medical Conditions

For all students, if medical conditions exist such as Asthma or seasonal Asthma-type symptoms, Allergies, Diabetes, Epilepsy or Seizures, an Action Plan must be completed by the parent and doctor. All care plans can be located in your child’s Magnus Health Account.
