In our Foundation 2 Tiger class we enjoy regular weekly visits from our class parents. These sessions provide opportunities for great parent-school partnership, with parents and children share where they come from with the class.
The sessions are fun and support children’s international awareness as we have students from around the globe. This week one of our students from London invited Paddington Bear to visit. Needless to say, it was excitement from the word go! We had several Paddington props and read some wonderful Paddington stories. The children listened to where Paddington came from and how delightfully clumsy Paddington was. They needed a few prompts as to what was his favourite food was but will surely remember what it was after a tasty treat. No prizes for what the children loved the most, yes of course, eating marmalade sandwiches! As Paddington would say, “A wise bear always keeps a marmalade sandwich in his hat in case of emergency” What a wonderful afternoon it was indeed!
