Message from the Deputy Principal - Message from the Deputy Principal

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone is safe and well after Typhoon Yagi on Friday. Students and staff turned seamlessly to check in calls and asynchronous learning which we use to ensure children continue ‘their studies’, even in a typhoon!

Please do reach out to your child’s teacher or tutor if you have any concerns or issues with this.

A highlight from last week was a leadership meeting with our new, enlarged PTA Exco to discuss events planned for this academic year. It has been a great response from everyone, and this is the largest committee I can recall. They will be hosting their first events in the coming days and weeks, so please do look out for these in this Parent Update and through the class WhatsApp chat.

I’d also like to share with our whole community that two of our teachers, Jen Lewsey from Sai Kung campus and Eliza Man from our Lam Tin campus are representing Hong Kong in the IBDF Club Crew World Dragon Boat Championships in Italy. I’m sure you will join me in congratulating them on this fantastic achievement and we look forward to them sharing their experiences of high-level sporting competitions with our students when they return.

Transport to and from school

Lam Tin
Please can we ask that parents/drivers refrain from parking/stopping in the school/public bus stop area outside the Lam Tin campus and in front of school on the double yellow lines. This is causing a safety concern for all students as our buses cannot pull in safely as cars are blocking the access. We ask parents and drivers to drop off further down On Tin Street or use the 3 public car parks nearby.

Kwun Tong
Please could all parents/drivers park away from the school gates and avoid blocking resident’s access along Yuet Wah Street.

We have received several complaints regarding inconsiderate parking during drop off and collection at both Kwun Tong and Lam Tin campuses and request that you support us by being considerate of our neighbours and other road users.

University Fair – Students
We are delighted to be hosting our first University Fair in our Kwun Tong Campus for our Y11-13 students this Friday. We will be welcoming over 80 university representatives from all over the world to support our students in identifying where and what they wish to study at undergraduate level. This is one of the many events and discussions we have with our students across secondary to prepare them for this next stage of their education.

Wishing you all a dry and successful week ahead.

Kind regards,

Sarah Harley
Deputy Principal
