Primary Campus Weekly Update

Primary Campus Weekly Update - Primary Campus Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Reflection as the catalyst

Ahead of the half term break, it is a great time to reflect, with your children, on the journey that your children have taken thus far in school and begin to think about their next steps.

When we reflect, we take stock of our progress from our starting point, which is our baseline, and review what actions we have taken to bring about the changes and progress before us. We should think about how our children have worked towards their goals and what factors have contributed to their achievements. Equally, it is reasonable to think about what we could do better and how we could achieve that; we are therefore looking at getting better tomorrow than we are today, informed by our actions and determined by our habits.

The positive habits of children’s school lives are supported by our school values, our school curriculum and by the community of teachers and teaching learning assistants. These habits, however, work most effectively when they are in unison with children’s lives at home so that we reinforce the same shared values and work together towards actions that help our children to be better tomorrow than they are today.

So, as we approach the end of the half term it could be a great time to reflect, alongside our children, on their journey so far. We can help to guide their thinking, their understanding and their approach to the new half term ahead. We can help them be ready for next term and celebrate both their successes and their next steps.

We are helping our children to better understand themselves and how they can achieve their goals. In doing so, and particularly over time, we are helping our children to cast a vote for the kind of person that they would like to become. In fact, it is fair to say this iterative cycle could be applied to many aspects of school and home life.

Global Sports Challenge
What an incredible start to our Global Sports Challenge!

After just two weeks, we’ve already smashed through 3,149 miles!

This week, let’s keep the momentum going with the help of our fantastic Year 3 and Year 2 students this morning, who will be walking and jogging around the playground, led by our amazing Balmoral House Captains.

Let’s all put our best foot forward and continue the hard work!

Please don’t forget to log your miles by Thursday afternoon before we head into our well-deserved half-term break. Let’s go, team! Keep pushing towards that finish line!

I do hope that families have a great break at the end of the week and enjoy their time with friends and family.

Best,

Stephen Sharma
