Dear Parents,
As we reach the conclusion of our first half term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the progress our children have made. It has been a successful term, and it is heartening to see them settled, happy, and thriving in their school environment.
Parent Information Session
Thank you to the parents who were able to attend last week’s information session, which explored our approach to supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional behaviour with Ms. Day. It was valuable to discuss our approach, particularly our use of Emotions Coaching and Social Thinking to support the young children’s development and self-regulation. We realise that many parents are unable to join during the working day, so, this week we will share with you links to this information.
Additionally, it was a pleasure to spend time in the classrooms and outdoor areas with you as the children explored and proudly showed the adults around their school.
Our second information session will explore our approach to Literacy and will take place on Thursday, 7th November at 8:45am.
Year 1 House Captains
Last week saw the launch of our House Captains appeal in which we are encouraging our Year 1 students to apply for the positions of House Captains. These roles provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop leadership skills and contribute to school life. House Captains will support assembly times and special events, including our upcoming Greening Project, which we aim to launch after the holiday in collaboration with our PTA.
Social Impact Distinction – Silver Award
I am delighted to share that our school has been awarded the Social Impact Silver Accreditation today. This recognition is incredibly meaningful to us, and we are truly thrilled to receive it.
The significance of Children’s Rights is central to our philosophy and practices. This accreditation not only fills us with pride but also motivates us to continue prioritising our students' rights in every aspect of our work at NAIS Hong Kong.
We view this achievement as a reflection of our commitment to fostering an environment where the rights and well-being of every child are upheld. It encourages us to further enhance our efforts and ensure that our students feel valued, respected, and empowered.
A big thank you to Mrs. Mertz, who leads Social Impact at NAIS Sai Kung, her passion and energy spurs us all on, as she encourages us to make a difference for our young students.
Thank you
As we celebrate the achievements of this fantastic half term, we are eagerly looking forward to the second half term and all the exciting experiences it will bring for our children.
Thank you once again for your continued support and engagement in our school community.
Yours sincerely,
Ruth Hanson
