Both Deborah and I would like to congratulate all students who entered the Creative Writing Competition. As ever, it was inspirational to see students digging deeper, connecting with the global goals, and producing inspirational pieces of writing.

This year's Nord Anglia Creative Writing Competition saw entries from 47 schools worldwide and we are extremely proud that ICS students were chosen to feature in the showcase anthology.

Themed around Goal 4: Quality Education, this year's global Creative Writing Competition challenged students to think about access to educational opportunities, both home and away, and put themselves in somebody else's shoes.

Students aged 8 - 18 were asked to think about the value of education, the advantages they have by accessing their own education and what happens to children who aren't as fortunate. Students developed their understanding of the themes underpinning Goal 4 and responded creatively to writing prompts proposed by Deborah Ellis, award winning author of The Breadwinner, who also judged the entries.

From thousands of entries, the calibre of which increases every year, schools selected hundreds of shortlisted entries which were passed to the global judging panel. To have been chosen to feature in the anthology is a considerable achievement.

Mark Orrow-Whiting, Director of Curriculum and Student Performance, said "Both Deborah and I would like to congratulate all students who entered the Creative Writing Competition. As ever, it was inspirational to see students digging deeper, connecting with the global goals, and producing inspirational pieces of writing."

Congrats to all the winners, particularly our very talented students here at ICS!
