Academic excellence

There’s no limit to what your child can achieve at Collège Champittet. Empowered by world-class teachers and engaged in the very best international curricula, our students enjoy a truly global education that’s embedded in Swiss traditions, heritage, and standards.

Excellence starts early, and our pre-school and primary programmes – which combine Swiss, French, and British curricula – are specifically designed by Champittet teachers for Champittet students. Learning in both French and English, our younger children quickly become gifted dual-language communicators. This prepares them for the challenges, opportunities, and incredible experiences of secondary education at our school.

We’re proud to offer a choice of diploma pathways from the age of 14. Our young people study for either the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in English, the French Baccalaureate, or the bilingual Swiss Maturité. As well as being academically rigorous and respected worldwide, each diploma is packed with global experiences, which build confidence, independence, and open-mindedness.

At every stage of their academic education, your child will follow a personalised journey that aligns with their passions, strengths, and ambitions. This includes the opportunity to study a higher-level maths programme, a requirement for selective Swiss and international universities, and follow specialist French and English language courses.

Our students’ hard work, talent, and enthusiasm sees them earn consistently fantastic results. For example, our class of 2023 achieved a 100% pass rate in the Swiss Maturité, well above the national average of 67%. Our IBDP points score of 33 was significantly higher than the global average, too.

This success takes our graduates to the world’s top 100 universities, including Oxford, King’s College London, the University of Geneva, Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne, and McGill.

At Collège Champittet, your child will learn from the world’s best.

All our teachers are carefully chosen, based not only on their impressive qualifications and extensive international experience, but also their values. Through our considered recruitment process, we make sure their approach aligns with our commitment to excellence.

Hailing from more than 30 countries, our diverse teaching team bring cutting-edge knowledge and skills to our classrooms. They’re experts in their age group or subject specialism, and adept at personalising learning to individual strengths, needs, and preferences. This means your child will receive the tailored support, challenge, and level of care they need to flourish in and outside of lessons.

Our standards are second to none. All our teachers hold recognised Swiss, French or or international qualifications, and many of our secondary teachers also have a Master’s degree. Our teachers share a commitment to our school ethos and culture, too, which includes acting with passion and purpose in everything they do.

Collège Champittet is a place of continuous learning, and this philosophy applies to our teachers, as well as our students. On the award-winning Nord Anglia University platform, for example, our teachers share ideas with colleagues worldwide, study for further qualifications, and access resources from world-leading organisations like MIT and The Juilliard School.

They also benefit from sector-leading training and development through our memberships of the Vaud Association of Private Schools, Swiss Private Schools Federation, Swiss Group of International Schools, International Baccalaureate Organisation, and SwissLearning.

Exclusive Nord Anglia Education collaborations with world leaders in the performing arts and STEAM engage, excite, and inspire. In partnership with The Juilliard School, we offer the highest quality drama, music, and dance education, which prepares our students for the international stage. Our awe-inspiring STEAM programme with MIT, meanwhile, will open your child’s eyes to the marvels of science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

We also offer more than 40 extra-curricular clubs, ranging from Taekwondo and circus skills to entrepreneurship and art. Our enviable location between Lake Geneva and the Alps means we can offer an array of one-of-a-kind activities, too, including weekly ski lessons, paddleboarding, and kayaking.

Closer to home, our Forest School gives younger children the chance to exercise, explore, invent, initiate, and dream, as they connect with nature and discover the world around them.

Whatever your child loves to do, we’ll make sure they’re cared for and supported. Our outstanding pastoral care team, which includes a psychologist, nurse, and safeguarding team, will actively keep an eye on their wellbeing and help them overcome challenges. Specialist coaches, tutors, mentors, mediators, boarding house parents, and a priest provide the additional guidance our students need to flourish.

Our social purpose

Our students have the power to change the world. How do we know? Because we see the positive impact their words and actions have every day – and the difference they go on to make when they leave us.

From an early age, your child will use their courage and skills to drive real change through the Collège Champittet Foundation. The Foundation is the beating heart of community life at our school, as students, parents, and staff come together to work towards a common purpose.

The Foundation supports children and schools in Madagascar, Thailand, and Lebanon, as well as Switzerland. Working closely with locals and other charities, our students come up with innovative fundraising ideas, and plan and implement projects. Regular field trips to Foundation initiatives demonstrate the tangible effect our students’ hard work has on others, as well as giving them a fresh perspective on the world.

Our students also stand up for what they believe in and make their voices heard through our exclusive collaboration with UNICEF. Your child will explore global issues – including the UN Sustainable Development Goals and climate change – and take part in debates, challenges, and international trips, where they’ll share their ideas on the world stage.

In school, our caring environment is the perfect place for your child to take the lead. On our Champittet Foundation Committee, Student Council, and as class representatives, our talented young leaders grow in confidence and demonstrate key organisational, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. They also help us foster a strong sense of purpose and community across the school.
