CDS students in Grades 6-8 will take the Spring MAP Assessment on May 16-May 18. This standardized assessment will assess students’ literacy and math skills and is given twice per year. MAP scores are a helpful data point for CDS staff to use in identifying areas for additional instruction, the performance and progress of a specific grade level, or whole school trends in learning and growth. MAP Growth scores are just one data point that our instructional team uses to determine how a student, or group of students, is performing. If a student is absent during a scheduled MAP testing session he/she will be able to make-up the test on another date. More information will be shared as we get closer to the assessment date.
Eight graders will be exploring Renewable Project and Energy project in Guanacaste. The itinerary is attached with the following link. Payment information and deadlines will be attached the following week.

I would like to wish the best to our high school students who will be starting their AP exams next Monday. This will be the end result of a year of studying and hard work. I hope the next two weeks bring a lot of success in their academic lives.
Decision Day is May 1st. All of our Seniors will have to commit by this day and decline all other offers. They are one step closer to starting their undergraduate studies and pursuing their dreams.
Yesterday, April 27, we closed Earth Week. It was a week of activities, a video competition, and an audit by Zero Waste. Our MS and HS assemblies closed the Earth week with participation from Zero Waste Costa Rica and from the "Alianza para Ríos y Cuencas de Costa Rica." Let Earth day me celebrated every day, because we do not have Planet B.
