PANTHER EXPERIENCE OPEN HOUSE
Dear CDS Families,
With our first full week of classes under our belt, our community is in full swing! This past week was full of amazing activities here on campus that continue to build positive momentum toward our goals of building the best learning environment for our students. Our first, all-school open house took place this past Wednesday evening and the feedback from both parents and teachers was overwhelmingly positive. Thank you to all who came out to support our students and staff. We also celebrated, for the first time, Día de la Persona Negra y la Cultura Afro Costarricense. This was a school-wide event that celebrated history, music, and dance by talented local and international speakers. Our secondary students were educated on the history of people of African descent here in Costa Rica by internationally known speaker Ms. Tanisha Swaby Campbell, heard African American spiritual songs and Calypso music sang by our very own choir teacher, Mr. Brumley with a special guest, middle school ELA teacher, Mr. Rose, and our program ended with a celebration of original songs by Mr. Masauko Chipembere. A special shout out to the CDS Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice committee for putting this event together.
We look forward to the weeks ahead and all of the special events that we are known for here at CDS. Please reference your new CDS calendar for specific dates of all upcoming events.
We wish you a wonderful and safe weekend.
Highest Regards,
Jack Young
General Director
