MS Parent Meeting September 30th @ 8:15 am
We will have our first MS Parent Meeting this coming Wednesday at 8:15am. We will discuss mental health in the midst of virtual learning and Covid-19. Come prepared to listen and to take part in this important discussion. My hope is to have this open dialogue as we partner together to support each child during this time!
Be on the Lookout for NAE Virtual Global Games
In the coming weeks we will be sharing information on the upcoming Nord Anglia Global Games for MS students. This year, the global games will not take place in Orlando as is the traditional, but instead will take place virtually. Once we have all of the information on the games, we will set up a time to share the information with students and parents.
STEAM Classes are working on ideas for their Rube Goldberg Global Campus Challenge:
Here’s Adrian Chasi with his Rube Goldberg idea: VIDEO.
CC2 E & F started watching “The Speed Cubers”, a documentary on the top international Rubik's Cube competitors. The documentary led us mathematicians into discussion about algorithms, surface area, and how motor skills are affected by spectrum disorders like autism and dyslexia.
Life Science 7A completed their reports on the MIT Abstract with Dr. Ritu Raman. Via global Campus, 7th grade scientists explored Dr. Raman’s research on bio-hybrid robots, applying it to what we’re learning about what it means to be “alive”.
8th Grade science students finished sharing their videos on states of matter and completed a density tower lab!
Check out Naomi Tate’s AWESOME video on states of matter.
Also, Hoyoung Kang and Julian Perez made a GREAT states of matter video as well:
