PANTHER EXPERIENCE OPEN HOUSE
On March 6th, we had scientist from Raising Coral Costa Rica, an NGO focused on natural coral restoration, visit the school. World renowned marine biologist Joanie Kleypas and her Costa Rican team, Tatiana Villalobos and José Andrés Marín, spent time with each house. During their tailored made presentations they engaged students at their level to further understand the importance of corals in our ecosystem.
One question that came up in every Q & A was: “What can we do?” The answer was consistently the same, “Continue learning about the oceans!” The more we learn the better we will understand what each of us can do. This project is about hope. Hope that we can save the corals by placing resilient species that can thrive. Hope that by learning first hand what is happening in the oceans, we will make small changes in habits that have a big collective impact.
Show your support for the campaign by purchasing a sticker or key chain. Make it a conversation piece and raise awareness!
You can find the Coral Table by the EC office during conferences on March 20th. Make a purchase, make a donation. Once we reach our goal of $2,000 for coral restoration, there will be a coral planted in Golfo Dulce in honor of the CDS community.
