About Our Elementary School Curriculum
We’re committed to providing an effective education for every student by aligning a rigorous, standards-based curriculum with the delivery of quality. We follow the US Common Core State Standards.
As well as offering the core subjects of math, science, language arts, and social studies, we have a strong specialist curriculum in:
- Art
- Media and Library Skills
- Music
- Physical Education
Additionally, we offer English as a Second Language and a resource program that supports student academic achievement.
From 1st through 5th grade, classes and activities are planned with the developmental stages in mind. We also provide our students with character education activities to help them develop into caring individuals.
We meet the needs of all our students and are committed to their continuous growth alongside the improvement of all our programs. Every month, we plan an elementary assembly designed to promote a specific character education trait.
Recognizing Success
At the beginning of each academic year, teachers identify goals that will encourage student participation in community service activities.
There are many other activities that highlight student success, such as:
- Science and Math Fairs
- Book Month
- Open House
- UN Day
- Independence Day celebrations
- Winter and spring musical productions
The Partnership Between Home and School
We believe a strong home and school partnership is the foundation for student success. This shared responsibility is the most important work we undertake as educators and parents. Parents help plan and implement a variety of events and programs such as the Back-to-School Picnic, Fun Run, our special reading program, and various class activities
