The graduation ceremony of the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) in Ho Chi Minh City was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, on Saturday, June 15, 2024. The event was attended by students, teachers, families, and guests. It took place in an atmosphere filled with mixed emotions, as it marked a milestone in the children's journey to maturity.
One of the highlights of the event was the moment when the graduating students walked into the hall in their formal graduation attire. Their confident and mature steps filled their families and teachers with emotion and pride.
Mr. Linh, the parent of Linh Vinh (Jimmy), one of the students who has been with BVIS since its first academic year in 2011, shared, “Over the past 10 years, our family has always trusted the dedication and enthusiasm of the teachers at the school. The values that BVIS has nurtured will be a precious foundation to help our child confidently step into the future, specifically at his dream school for the next academic year, the University of Toronto, Canada.”
BVIS families were both happy and moved by the success and growth of their children at the graduation ceremony.
With 75 dynamic and excellent members, this year’s graduating class is the largest since BVIS was officially established back in 2011.
During the recent university application season, students confidently secured 125 acceptance letters from universities worldwide, including prestigious groups such as the Ivy League, Russell Group, and Group of Eight. This year's acceptance list includes esteemed universities from countries across the world, such as the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, the University of California-Irvine, Imperial College London, King’s College London, and the University of Toronto. Notably, the total value of scholarships awarded to the Class of 2024 exceeds 3 million USD, equivalent to 76.5 billion VND.

In 2024, one in two BVIS graduates were accepted into a top 50 global university. Like previous years, the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia continue to be popular and preferred destinations for BVIS students.
According to Mr. Simon Higham, Principal of BVIS, the key factor contributing to the outstanding success of the Class of 2024 is the International A-Level programme, which offers a diverse range of subjects and flexibility in course selection, allowing students to freely pursue their strengths, interests, and academic passions.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Simon stated that this year's impressive achievements stem from the great efforts of each student, as well as the support from the school and families, which provided the best learning experiences and opportunities, helping students maximize their university admission chances with a strong academic foundation and diverse extracurricular projects.
The graduation ceremony concluded with the traditional cap-tossing ritual.
Representing the Class of 2024, Phương Nghi and Khánh Linh, Presidents of the Secondary Student Council, shared in their graduation speech, “As we stand at the threshold of the next chapter of our lives, we must acknowledge that changes are inevitable. But no matter where life takes us, the experiences at BVIS have provided us with an extremely solid foundation to move forward into the future—a foundation filled with laughter, knowledge, and growth that we will always remember with gratitude.”
Our 11th graduating class from BVIS has officially left the school's gates this summer, motivated, excited and well equipped for their next adventures.
