TedxYouth BVIS HCMC 2025: A Remarkable Success by the BVIS Secondary Student Council

TedxYouth BVIS HCMC 2025: A Remarkable Success by the BVIS Secondary Student Council - TEDXYOUTH BVIS HCMC 2025 A REMARKABLE SUCCESS BY THE BVIS SECONDARY STUDENT COUNCIL

TEDxYouth BVIS HCMC was the largest event ever successfully organised by the BVIS Secondary Student Council.

With the active and professional collaboration of BVIS secondary students, particularly Như Ý and Cindy (Year 13), the Student Council leaders, the BVIS Marketing team, and representatives from TEDx, the students showcased their leadership and project management skills, ensuring the event’s outstanding success.

Outstanding TEDxYouth Talks:

Bảo Quyên (Year 11) used childhood dinner experiences to illustrate the "fixed pie" mindset in negotiations. Instead of competing for a bigger share, she encouraged creating value by making the most of what we already have—just like adding "strawberries" to make a small piece of cake more meaningful.
Mai Khanh (Year 11) spoke about "Rejection," drawing inspiration from Michael Jordan, Jack Ma, and Stephen King. She shared her personal story of a sports injury that ended her basketball dreams but opened new opportunities. She emphasised that rejection is not failure but a chance for growth.
Phương Nhi (Year 13) examined the power and ethics of eloquence. She questioned whether complex language truly reflects intelligence or simply disguises weak arguments. Through discussions on cognitive biases, linguistic imperialism, and accent discrimination, she argued that true intelligence lies in the value of ideas rather than the way they are expressed.

Cẩm Phong (Year 13) explored the topic of "Doraemon," analysing teleportation and time travel. While these concepts remain fictional, scientific discoveries such as quantum teleportation and Einstein’s theory of relativity are bringing us closer to these ideas.

The event not only introduced fresh ideas but also deeply inspired creativity and leadership within the BVIS community.
