Following a recent Official Dispatch No. 1218/UBND-VX of the Peoples’ Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, it is necessary to bring to your attention of an outbreak of Marburg Virus Disease in 2 countries in Africa - Tanzania and Equatorial Guinea.
In order to strengthen epidemic prevention and control of Marburg Virus Disease, we have included an information poster below, that has been prepared by the HCDC to help you to understand the signs and symptoms, how the disease spreads and how it can be prevented.
Please note that this information is simply to increase your awareness about the potential for imported cases. To date, no cases related to these outbreaks have been reported in the Vietnam or any other countries outside Tanzania and Equatorial Guinea.
Should you wish to seek any further information about Marburg Virus Disease, we would advise speaking to HCDC or your local medical centre.
