Last week, Tracy and Jack and Allen had worked at CGV as interns. They worked for three days at CGV. Each one of them worked at different departments in the cinema, Tracy worked as a ticket seller while Jack and Allen made popcorns and directed customers to the right cinema. Tracy’s works were extremely challenging, she had to deal with a variety of customers and some of the customers were really hard to satisfy. However, Tracy handled it with excellent output. Allen and Jack got in a department where they were needed to make popcorn, directed customers and cleaned the cinema. Not only that they worked at a very friendly environment but also they got to know more about the process of making popcorn which is very interesting.
Making popcorns was a brand new experience for Jack and Allen, they didn’t have a clue what is the process of making popcorns. They had to learn the recipes of how to make a variety of popcorns like sweet, salty, caramel or cheese. They also changed our job on the next day when we were directing customers to their seats and cleaning cinema. This helped them to know more deeply about how cinemas operate. They also has to work under pressure, because CGV is a very well known cinema so there are thousand of customers coming in everyday and everything has to be perfect. The staffs were extremely kind because they patiently helped us even the smallest details like always face the side with the phrase “New York” out. They didn’t get mad when we did something wrong or make a mess, they just gently tell us what we did wrong and tell us how to not do it again or clean it up for us. We also learned and improved our communication skills when we had to go around and ask customers if they would like to make a CGV membership cards. We faced many problems as this is the first time we have a proper job, we struggled a lot at first. The main problem that the three students had was coping with pressure at the rush hour where more than thousand customers came in at the same time. However, with the help from the CGV’s staffs, they were able to handle the difficult circumstances.
During her time at CGV, Tracy learned to communicate with customers and how to have a right manner toward difficult customers. Thanks to those difficult customers, Tracy was able to gain a calm attitude and slowly solve the challenging situation instead of panicking and get nothing done . Allen and Jack also felt like theirs public speaking and communication have greatly improved due to close interaction with the customers, they also learned absolutely new skill like how to make great popcorns ! Working at CGV Vivo was a great experience and an excellent opportunity for the three students to get familiar to a professional working environment. “We would like to thank BVIS for giving us this chance. We also wanted to thank every member of the CGV Vivo cinema staffs for being friendly and patient with us despite our inexperience, they were really helpful and always try to give us as much practical knowledge and perspectives as possible” said the student. CGV is definitely a great place for workers to seek experiences for future careers in the service industry.
