Welcome to BVIS Secondary Update

In Humanities

Year 8 students are learning to use a compass as part of their Mapping topic. They have been navigating their away around the school using a compass and the maps of the building they have drawn themselves.

Year 9 students are busy planning our second visit to the floating village. They are learning about squatter settlements and have used the floating village as our local example and the ones in Rio De Janeiro as our global example.

In Year 12 Geography, students are learning about weathering on rocks. They have a class challenge to find as many examples around our local area as possible, take a photo and bring in for a house point. They’ve found some great examples so far.

IGCSE and A-level Exams

Thank you for your continued support of the students through their IGCSE and A Level Exams.

Each afternoon we are going to send you the schedule for the following day in case we have had to make any changes to start times. This will ensure students are on time for their exams.

We would like to remind you that students are expected in school for normal school hours (08:30-15:05) each day until they have completed their exams. If students arrive late they must register with our receptionist before going to their exam or lesson.

The Year 11 and KS5 Microsoft Team is updated also each morning for students to check their daily exam schedule, it is very important that students check this by 8:00am each morning for instructions from the exam team on the daily schedule.

Events of the following weeks:

  • Wednesday, May 24th,2023: Coffee Morning – meet the Principle
  • Tuesday, May 30th, 2023: Sports Award Day

I hope you all have a great weekend!
