Dear Families,
We have now reached the end of what has been an incredible second term. A huge thank you for your significant partnership and support of the school, it is greatly appreciated.
I had the pleasure of attending the EYFS and Primary end of term awards this week and it was great to see the range of achievements across all year groups. Well done to all the students.
I also had the pleasure of attending the Secondary end of term awards ceremony this week. A very impressive number of students received special awards this term. Well done everyone.
On Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of attending a fabulous secondary performance entitled 'Magic Music and Mischief'. Not only in their second language but also for half the show they tackled a well know Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night's Dream. A huge congratulations to Ysanne for leading the students to this amazing showcase of their talents. A big thanks also to all the staff who supported Ysanne and the students on the night. Well done everyone.

We ended the week and the term recognising all the students that have demonstrated to a very high level the values that are integral to our school community. Well done to all the students that received an award.

As is tradition, we put together and end of term highlights video that you can see below:
Term 2 Highlights AY 2024 25
It just leaves me to wish you all a very happy and safe spring break with your families. I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on 5th May.

Celebrating Progress
All the hard work and achievements by the Early Years children are celebrated this week by recognition. F1 have become confident communicators, F2 went on their first shopping trip and F3 started writing their own stories. Well-deserved awards were given to all children at the End of Term Award Ceremony.

Independent, Creative and Caring Learners
What a fantastic term it has been for Year 1! This term has been filled with creativity, curiosity, and personal growth. In English and Vietnamese Literacy, the children explored instruction writing — learning how to give clear, step-by-step directions for making healthy pizzas and building sturdy bridges. During IPC lessons, their imaginations came to life as they designed and constructed their very own dream cities and apartments using recycled materials, all while developing teamwork and problem-solving skills. In PSHE, inspired by the Little Spot of Emotion book series, the children took part in thoughtful activities to help them recognise, express and manage their feelings, show kindness towards others, and build self-confidence.
It has been a joy to watch each child grow into a more independent, creative and caring learner. Well done, Year 1 — we are so proud of everything you have achieved this term!

Striving for a Greener, Fairer Future
In Term 2, Year 2 students are exploring “The Earth is Our Home” through SDGs 14, 15, and 16. They visited a Hanoi community garden, engaged with nature, cleaned litter, and became environmental reporters. Their hands-on learning fosters care for the planet and community. We’re proud of these young changemakers working for a greener, fairer future!

Curiosity and Love of Learning
At the end of Term 2, our students received recognition for their excellent effort and dedication. Below is a picture of Year 3 getting their awards. They consistently showed care for others and curiosity in every subject. Their positive attitude and love of learning made a big difference. We are all so proud of their wonderful achievements!

Residential Trip to Hoa Binh
Year 4 have been busy preparing for our upcoming residential trip to Hòa Bình. As part of this meaningful experience, students are collecting donations to support Mường ethnic children who have been severely affected by Typhoon Yagi. Items include school supplies, books, clothing, and small toys—gifts that will bring both joy and support to those in need.
We’re so proud of our Year 4 students for showing such compassion and generosity as they get ready to learn, share, and connect with their peers in Hòa Bình.

Exploring 3D Shapes
In the last week, during Maths, Year 5 learned about the properties of 3D shapes. The whole class enthusiastically participated in different activities to help remember the characteristics of shapes, such as loop games, barrier games and pair challenges. The students identified the number of faces, vertices and edges and used clues to determine which 3D shapes were being described.

Residential Trip to Mai Chau
This week, the Year 6 students have had a memorable time filled with many events. Congratulations to all for your relentless efforts; you deserve to be honoured at the end-of-Term 2 award ceremony. The field trip to Mai Chau has concluded a term full of wonderful experiences. The students participated in activities to gain more practical knowledge and skills. Wishing them all a fun and safe break. We look forward to seeing all the students at the beginning of Term 3.

Academic Awards
On Tuesday 15th April we were delighted to host our Term 2 Academic Awards ceremony. Students from all year groups were awarded certifictates based on both academic attainment and exemplary learning attitudes. This was a wonderful celebration of hard work, commitment and effort. We were delighted that so many parents could join us to congratulate our fantastic students who very much deserved this afternoon of recognition and celebration.

Drama Production
This week, we were thrilled to invite you to this year’s school production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream—a magical, musical journey filled with mischief, mayhem, and more than a little fairy dust!
Our incredible students have poured their hearts into bringing Shakespeare’s classic comedy to life, and what makes this achievement even more special is that they’re performing the entire play in their second language. Tackling Shakespeare is no easy feat, but their energy, creativity, and dedication have been nothing short of inspiring.
Every rehearsal has been a joy—and yes, they’ve had me crying with laughter more times than I can count! The growth in confidence of the performers throughout the process has been a joy to watch and I feel very grateful to every person involved for making this show so special. I hope that the students have created fantastic memories and friendships that they will treasure for many years to come. As a cast, we are especially grateful to Mr Ryan, Ms Angharad, Ms Colleen, Ms Andrea, Mr Daithi and Mr Whiffin who volunteered their Wednesday evening to support us. A special thank you must also be given to May Tran, My Linh, Minh Phuong, Hoang Xuan, Thien Nhu, Thuy Anh, Bao Anh, Kieu Vy, Lam Vy, Mai Ha and Minh Ngoc for their support in creating costumes, props and also making sure the show ran smoothly.

Take Over Day
On Tuesday 15th April students in Years 12 and 13 had a ‘Take over day’ where they took over staff roles for the day! Here are just a few insights into the roles students took over........
Hoang Chau Anh in Year 13 took over Ms Claire’s job for the day and here are some thoughts from her:
‘I have experienced what Ms. Claire usually does as Head of Secondary on takeover day. In the morning, we spent time completing ‘Learning walks’ which involved observing classes and seeing how teachers delivered their lessons, the strategies they used to involve students, and the overall classroom atmosphere. It was really interesting to see the different teaching styles and how each class had its own atmosphere. It gave me a better understanding of how important it is for a school leader to be present, supportive, and aware of what’s happening in the classrooms.’

In the afternoon Chau Anh took centre stage presenting certificates to students at the Academic Awards ceremony. She was extremely professional and did a brilliant job at being Head of Secondary for the day!

Gia Bao, a Year 12 student, took on the job of Computing Science for Takeover Day with Ms Zerrin. He taught a very enjoyable computer science lesson to Year 8 and Year 9 students, and they all loved having him. This occasion provided Gia Bao with a valuable opportunity to step into a leadership teaching role, while also giving the younger students a chance to engage with a peer in a new way, fostering a sense of excitement and inspiration for learning.
Year 9 EAL
Inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Year 9 students have been designing magical buttons for Willy Wonka’s Great Glass Elevator — but with a twist. Each button transports you to a room that supports one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From seaweed-based crisps that protect marine life to educational sweets that help fight illiteracy, the students have combined creativity with global awareness to invent rooms that are not only delicious, but also make the world a better place.
This fun activity helps students develop their imagination, critical thinking, and empathy. By linking their ideas to real-world issues, they gain a better understanding of global challenges and the importance of sustainable development. It also strengthens their ability to explain and justify ideas - key skills in both writing and discussion.
Have a nice spring break holiday ahead!
