Dear Parents
A shorter but nonetheless busy week here at BVIS. Our staff and students are looking forward to a well earned rest.
1. Secondary's academic updates
Our Year 11 and Year 13 students have now started their formal examinations. I know you will join me in wishing them all the very best of luck with their upcoming exams. We look forward to seeing the results of their hard work in August.
I am delighted to say that our Year 13 students have already secured many great offers for some of the top universities worldwide and there are still more offers to come.
The predicted academic outcomes for GCSE and A Level are again looking quite amazing and this is testament to the hard work and efforts of the students and the staff supporting them in their studies in preparation for the examinations. We are on course for another excellent year of academic achievement at BVIS.
2. Renovation of Sixth Form centre
We are now finalising our plans for the new Sixth Form centre that will open in the summer. This is an exciting project and one that will provide an amazing resource for our Year 12 and 13 students as they study for their International A Level qualifications.
3. Students visited Hanoi Deaf School For Children
This week, some of our Year 5 students and teachers visited Hanoi School For Deaf Children and participated in the following activities with their students and teachers: went on a school tour, discussed in sign language and learnt to sew.
In addition, we also sent meaningful gifts donated from World Book Day week and other events.
It was amazing to see the students trying to bridge the gap with their deaf friends by learning sign language, finding ways to communicate and learning about the lives of their friends here.
4. Welcoming new teachers in the next Academic Year
I am pleased to say that the retention rate of teachers at BVIS this year is very high and there are not many teachers leaving. This will bring great stability to the school as we continue to improve the school even further. In the coming weeks we will start to introduce our new members of the academic team who will be joining us in August.
I wish you a very happy few days holiday on the occasion of Hung Kings Commemoration Day and Reunification Day in the next few days.
School will reopen for students on Thursday 4th May.
