During the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic, BVIS Hanoi has developed breakthrough educational ideas in transforming teaching to combine with an exclusive online learning platform to help students achieve impressive results in international examinations.

Oustanding results in International Examinations

In A Levels, we have seen 45% of our grades were either A*or A, the highest ever in our school’s record. This figure becomes even more outstanding since the number of students taking the exams rose more than 40% from last year. 24% of our students got A* or A in all of their subjects with 3 students achieving A* grades in every paper. Notably, Tuan Dung and YeonOo achieved Best in Country awards for English Literature and Economics AS level, respectively.

Meanwhile in IGCSEs, the number of students who were graded at A* - A rose from 36% to 43%, compared to last year’s. 78% of students achieved A* - C, of which 16 excellent students achieved A* - A in all their papers. This is also the second year in a row, 100% of our Year 10 Advanced Maths class achieved an A*-A grade. These students are identified in Year 9 as being our top Mathematicians and are invited to undertake the course in Year 10. The results showcase the high quality of teaching and the preparation offered by our Maths department.

With these excellent results, our students have been accepted into top universities worldwide such as: London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Warwick, King’s College London, City University (UK), University of Richmond, University of Wisconsin (US), Monash University, Melbourne University (Australia), and Yonsei University and Sogang University (Korea).

Easily toggling between virtual and on-campus learning

Before the school year 2020-2021, BVIS Hanoi had well prepared for Virtual School Experience to adapt to the situation of the Covid-19 that can change at any time.  At the beginning of the school year, the children were fostered with the necessary information technology skills so they could be ready for all learning conditions.  All exercises and lectures in class have been uploaded to our online learning platform, combined with documents and learning materials that are fully provided to each student to help them access and study anywhere.  Teachers also participate in training courses from Nord Anglia Education (NAE) to member schools around the world in order to improve the quality of online teaching.

When the school had to switch to virtual learning due to the epidemic, BVIS Hanoi applied breakthrough educational ideas such as:  making 1:1 personal calls between students and teachers weekly in order to quickly and promptly solve the difficulties and questions they are facing;  designing specific timetables or each year group,  providing Virtual Extra-Curricular activities run twice a week, Emotional Health Support. Attendance Report and Engagement Data Weekly. In addition, the school also regularly organizes online meetings/webinars with parents to updates on their child’s development and achievements
