Walk All Over Cancer 2024

WAOC
Our students at The British School of Tashkent are a force for good, driving meaningful change within our school, throughout our community, and across the globe. This was never more evident than during our recent Walk All Over Cancer. This annual charity event united students, staff, and parents for an inspiring day dedicated to raising awareness and funds for those affected by cancer.

A FORCE FOR GOOD IN OUR COMMUNITY

As a school, we believe in the powerful and mutually beneficial impact of hands-on community engagement. This year, the event was opened by Khilola Khodjaeva, Chair of Ezgu Amal, who delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of coming together to support those fighting cancer.

Participants of all ages took part in a walk around our campuses. To raise funds for the charity, our community was able to purchase t-shirts and caps, and our Parent, Teacher, and Friends Association (PTFA) hosted a bake sale in the afternoon.

A WHOLE-SCHOOL COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

A huge thank you to our entire community for coming together to support Walk All Over Cancer. From our youngest pupils to our oldest, everyone got involved. We are also deeply grateful to the parents who participated and to the PTFA committee for their support on the day. An incredible 15,000,000 UZS was raised, all of which will go directly to Ezgu Amal, our charity partner.

Through both local and global projects, we empower our students to engage with pressing issues, take action to improve the lives of others, and grow into socially responsible young citizens.
