International Day: A joyful celebration of the School’s global community

knk
Featuring embassy representatives, global cuisine, mesmerising performances, and cultural activities, International Day was once again a dynamic and joyful celebration of the global community at BST.

In March, more than forty countries were represented at The British School of Tashkent (BST), when the School celebrated its annual International Day.

From Uzbekistan to France, India to Guatemala, and Japan to Mongolia, the two campuses at The British School of Tashkent were transformed to represent all corners of the world.

EQUIPPING CHILDREN TO THRIVE IN MULTICULTURAL ENVIRONMENTS

Director of Admissions and Marketing from The British School of Tashkent, Connie Jones, emphasised the importance of global learning and equipping children to thrive in multicultural environments.

“We’re incredibly proud at The British School of Tashkent of our reputation for being a friendly, family-orientated, and welcoming international community. Home to parents, children, and teachers from more than forty countries, we cultivate a dynamic learning environment where we recognise the common humanity that binds us all together.”

She continued, “This translates into outstanding experiences for our students at BST, where pupils benefit from diverse perspectives and global mindsets, ultimately fostering empathy and tolerance, and empowering them to navigate diverse social landscapes.”

A TRUE CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY AND UNITY

Students and staff came to the day in national dress and were joined by representatives from embassies and cultural centres from across Tashkent, including amongst others, France, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Pakistan, Turkey and India.

Classrooms were decorated by students and their teachers, and children enjoyed an international menu. Meanwhile, the theatre came alive with the infectious rhythms of music and dance, as performers from around the world took to the stage.

SHAPING UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES FOR OUR STUDENTS

The BST community is home to rich and diverse cultures, and days such as International Day contribute to a sense of global citizenship, as well as feelings of mutual understanding and personal fulfilment. Thank you to everyone who lent a hand in making this day so special.
