It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to the Secondary School at the British School of Tashkent.
The Secondary school has been growing and evolving in the ten years that BST has been open, and it is with great pride and excitement that we start our new academic year with further growth, including our first cohort of Year 13 students who will complete their ‘A’ level studies and prepare for entry to world-leading universities.
We also welcome new teachers who have proven themselves to be outstanding educators in their fields, inspiring creativity, resilience and academic excellence in all their students. Our facilities have been expanded to include a brand new, state of the art, ‘STEAM’ building, promoting excellence in learning in science, technology and the arts. We are particularly excited to be able to launch the new IGCSE course in Design Technology, building on the success of the technology curriculum at Key Stage 3.
Learning is at the heart of our school and our diverse, international community of students, parents and teachers work together to inspire all to reach their goals and to encompass the Nord Anglia values and philosophy to ‘be ambitious’. Our students each have unique strengths and interests and our curriculum is committed to meeting the needs of each student every day, instilling in them a joy of learning in an inclusive community.
Academic success is not the only important measure of a student’s success. We recognise fully the importance of the development of social and interpersonal skills in students and we have a varied range of clubs and activities available after school that help our students to develop existing talents and interests and to find new ones that they will value for life.
Thank you for joining our exceptional community, and I look forward very much to meeting you on the ‘Kalandar’ Campus and being able to show you in person our happy, safe and successful school.
Kind regards,
Helen McCarthy,
Head of Secondary
