The days were long, therehearsals were intense and the weather was hot and sticky, but our students threw themselves into every rehearsal and workshop, including dance, Malay cooking, and Samba drumming, with enthusiasm and energy.Under the guidance of the charismatic andrenowned Malaysian singer and choral conductor, Chi Hoe Mak, the students performed 9 - yes, NINE! - pieces in the final concert on Friday. The performance was made up of traditional Malaysian folk songs, funky pop songs, and a very differentAustralian Aboriginal piece to finish, in which the students used a mixture of animal, weather and otherworldly sounds to create a textured, eerie effect, the likes of which many of the audience members had never heard before. We are all very proud of our students for their amazing performance and their impeccable conduct whilst in Kuala Lumpur. Each and every one of them did our school proud!
