British International School Kuala Lumpur’s largest cohort of IGCSE students again posted outstanding results and building on a long history of excellence at the school.

BSKL students typically study 8 subjects, including four elective subjects. Sixth Form programs and universities typically review how students performed across a minimum of 5 subjects. This year, 76% of students earned A*-A grades or equivalent across 5 subjects and 94% earned 5 or more A*-C grades or equivalent.

The results by subject this year were quite strong, and here are a few standouts

  • 85% of Triple Science grades were A*-A or equivalent
  • 92% of Graphics grades were A*-A or equivalent
  • 94% of Drama grades were A*-A or equivalent
  • 100% of Art grades were A*-A or equivalent
  • 100% of Music grades were A*-A or equivalent

"Once again our students achieved at the highest levels. It’s a testament to the hard work of the students, their families, and their teachers. As a school, consistently improving our results as the cohort grows and becomes more diverse is a strong indication of the value-added by our academic team", BSKL Principal Dr. Mike O’Connor said.

BSKL’s global reputation has increased demand in our IGCSE offer. The 2024 Year 11 cohort had 11 more students than 2018-19, representing growth of 15% over pre-pandemic enrolment.

‘We are extremely proud of the students and their achievements. It is wonderful to witness their success after supporting and guiding them through the last two years. Their excellent outcomes are a testament to their dedication and determination, as well as to the care and support of their teachers. Well done to everyone involved.’ said Dr Nicola Brown, Head of Secondary.

Nearly 30% of BSKL students earned straight A*-A grades or equivalent in their IGCSE subjects. This year 75% of all IGCSE grades were earned at A*-A or equivalent.
