BSKL’s Kalen and Matyáš Lead FCKL to Victory at the Iber Cup in Barcelona

Kalen, the team’s striker, and Matyáš, the goalkeeper, were crucial to the team’s success. Their efforts led to an exciting 2-1 win against England's St. Johns Wood United in the final, held at the Estadio Les Pistes Stadium.

The final match was intense right from the start. St. Johns Wood United scored first, finding the net in the eighth minute, giving the English team an early lead. Despite this setback, FCKL showed resilience and determination. Just three minutes later, FCKL equalised, bringing the score level and giving FCKL a renewed boost.

The winning moment came in the 23rd minute when Kalen, showing great skill and scored the decisive goal. This crucial strike not only secured the championship for FCKL but also highlighted Kalen’s significant contribution throughout the tournament.

Matyáš, the goalkeeper, was equally important to FCKL’s victory. His excellent saves and strong leadership in defense gave the team the confidence and stability needed to withstand the pressure from their tough opponents.

FCKL coach Emma Hankins, who has been with the team for three years, praised the players' fighting spirit in denying the English team the title.

"It wasn't an easy game. St Johns put up a fantastic fight. They scored first, but we fought back and won the title.” she said. Her words reflect the team’s fighting spirit and ability to overcome challenges on their way to victory.
