Community spirit soars: BSKL's successful donation drive for Kechara Soup Kitchen
The Social Impact Team (SIT) is delighted to share the incredible success of our recent whole-school Food Hamper Donation drive.
Over the past two weeks, Primary and Secondary came together to donate non-perishable food and hygiene products to aid vulnerable persons in our community. Totalling to an astounding 1,158 donations!
The drive encouraged a friendly yet spirited House Competition, with the Saxons emerging as the champions by donating the most items. Contributing an impressive 442 items! Their prize will be determined by their House Leaders in Term 1.
Boxes brimming with these items reflected the generosity and compassion of BSKL, and will all be personally donated by the SIT to Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) when school reopens after Summer holidays. As a reminder, KSK’s mission to provide meals and necessities to the homeless and underprivileged has had a significant positive impact on the lives of many.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all parents, students, and staff who contributed to the success of this initiative. Special congratulations to the Saxons for their exemplary efforts. To all the Houses, 2nd place Romans, 3rd place Normans and 4th place Vikings (only by a little!), you have done well to showcase your abundant generosity and compassion! These donations will go a long to way to changing and improving the lives of the underprivileged families and communities.
Thank you once again for all your support and we look forward to doing this again next year!
Secondary school parents and students celebrated the achievements of BSKL students at the 2nd annual Empowered to Succeed Awards on 12 June at the Le Meridien Hotel.
The Secondary Well-being room, once underutilised and often misused, has undergone a remarkable transformation into a dedicated learning support sensory room, marking a significant milestone in the school's commitment to inclusive education.
Last week, we welcomed back some of our Year 11 students, and some new faces, to experience an exciting and enriching Year 11 to Sixth Form Transition Week, designed to prepare them for the next stage in their academic journey.
