The BSKL campus remains busy this summer as a number of improvement projects are underway across all three of our campuses.
Each of these projects aim to further enhance the exceptional learning environment for BSKL students.
Here’s an update of the work being completed this summer.
Upper Hill Campus
The refurbishment of the outdoor learning area in our Early Years Centre began on 7 July. This includes resurfacing the outdoor learning area, new play equipment, and a new sand pit. The Upper Hill Dining hall will also be re-floored and a new parents’ waiting area will be created on level 1 for early years parents. New lighting and sound-absorption panels will complete the renovations to level 1.
Lower Hill Campus
The new art studios on the Lower Hill Campus are nearly completed, with only the finishing touches left to make the spaces ready for students. The new space creates a large studio, double the size of the previous studio, complete with new flooring, lighting, ceiling, cabinetry, and student workspaces. We can’t wait for key stage 2 students to unleash their creativity in the new space.
Secondary Campus
Major work on level 7 will create one new science lab where the two computer labs were in the science wing. The two computer labs will relocate to new classrooms constructed in the lift lobby on level 7. The existing science labs will receive enhanced furnishings and finishes to maximise the capacity and functionality of the labs. The Sixth Form Lounge and Study areas on level 3 will receive a new interior refurbishment with new flooring, lighting, and furniture. The study area will be redesigned to accommodate both quiet space and collaborative space for students to work.
General campus updates
A number of painting projects are underway. Both level 6 and level 7 in the Secondary School campus will be repainted this summer. Painting will also be completed on levels 1-3 in the Lower Hill campus including some classrooms in Early Years and Lower Hill Campus.
The theatre floor will be re-stained this summer. In addition, a new laser projector system will be installed in the theatre.
