Young Musician of the Year
Recently we celebrated our Young Musician of the Year Award winners in a special assembly about taking risks and getting involved in things that might be outside your comfort zone. We were extremely pleased that 51 of our students pushed themselves, took a risk and entered the competition. We were delighted to announce the winners in our special press release early June however we had a further surprise at the same time when the 2nd & 3rd place winners were announced and we had a further 3 students receiving awards!
2nd Yelsey Wong – 7-10 Piano
2nd Xing Ning Tan – 11-14 Strings
3rd Sarah Qistina – 11-14 Woodwind
This is the third year of the competition and the third year running that Tina (Sarah Qistina) has received a placing. We are very proud of all our students that took a risk and entered this competition.
June 2nd PIPS Concert
On Friday June 2nd the Primary assembly was taken over with the sound of music as the PIPs teachers came down with their students to give a concert to the rest of the primary school and some parents.
There were performances from the brass groups, flute groups, clarinet ensembles, violins, violas and cellos and sometimes a mix of instruments too. It was clear the students had all worked very hard and enjoyed it very much. The newest class 4E stole the show demonstrating wonderful controlled playing after only 4 weeks of lessons. It was great to see the hard work from the PIPs lessons showcased like this and we look forward to seeing more of their work in concert next year.
