U11 FOBISIA
U11 Primary FOBISIA
Last Friday the BSKL U11 FOBISIA team embarked to Pattana Sports Resort in Thailand for the FOBISIA games. Over the 3 days of competition they competed in swimming, athletics, t-Ball and Football. At the end of a wonderful tournament, although tired, the students had forged strong friendships, created memories, won countless medals and shared experiences that will last them a lifetime.
Day 1:
Day 1 started with the swimming and a hugely successful day in the pool. Every student contributed to a wonderful display where every point counted with a fantastic first place over the other 7 teams at the competition by 1 point over the team in 2nd place. After lunch a fantastically determined effort in scorching heat led to a similar on the track and in the field with all of our wonderful athletes contributing to a superb 2nd place overall.

Day 2:
The start of day 2 saw the start of the T-ball competition and what would turn out to be a very dominant and successful day for BSKL. Both teams won their respective tournaments and earned the plaudits of both organisers and coaches from around the competition for their skill in the tournament. Every BSKL athlete played their part in fantastic display, with BSKL’s pitcher Ryuki Awata being nominated by 3 different schools coaches as one of the players of the tournament alongside another BSKL superstar Hamsika Gandrathi. With 2 1st places secured for BSKL the spirits were soaring at dinner that night.

Day 3:
Day 3 was another day for our athletes to demonstrate great levels of skill and determination. The girls demonstrated great stickability and determination. Whilst the competition was stiff, they kept on trying and finished 7th in the end. The boys started well with 2 wins out of 3 in the pool stages. They were eventually beaten on penalties in the final against Seoul Foreign School. Whilst they were disappointed to finish 2nd they really demonstrated grit and determination to fight back from 3-1 down in a final to force it to penalties.

On the last night was the gala dinner where the athletics and swimming awards were presented and much of the pain of the penalty shootout was forgotten. The U11 BSKL FOBISIA team were a credit to the school. They demonstrated exemplary behaviour, fabulous sportsmanship and levels of energy, skill and determination that set them apart from the other schools. We look forward to seeing what this talented group of students do next.
