Roisin is an experienced English teacher with a passion for literature and language. She graduated seven years ago from University College Cork, Ireland, with a Professional Masters in Education, specializing in English literature and language, as well as the Irish language. Her educational background has equipped her with a deep understanding of these subjects and their importance in education.
Following her studies, Roisin began her teaching career in a suburban Dublin secondary school, where she taught English in an all-Irish setting. This experience allowed her to gain valuable insights and experience across all year groups and levels. She further enhanced her skills by taking on the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator, overseeing the SEN program within the school and ensuring that students with additional needs received the support they required.
Roisin's love for literature is deeply ingrained in her life. She appreciates novels, poetry, drama, and film as lifelong friends and aims to instill the same appreciation for the English language in her students at BSG. Her enthusiasm for literature brings a vibrant and engaging atmosphere to her classes, fostering a love for reading and an understanding of the power of language.
Outside of teaching, Roisin enjoys pursuing her hobbies and passions. She has a keen interest in photography, capturing moments and memories through her lens. Cooking is another creative outlet for her, allowing her to explore different flavors and cuisines. Roisin also practices yoga, finding solace and balance through this mindful activity. One of her greatest passions is travel, having explored Europe, the Americas, and Asia. This love for exploring new cultures and traditions ultimately inspired her move to Guangzhou, China.
Roisin is excited to immerse herself in a new country filled with unique traditions and experiences. She embraces the challenges that come with living and teaching in a different cultural context, eager to learn and grow both personally and professionally.
