Monica is an experienced educator with nearly two decades of experience in the field of education. For the past 16 years, she has been an integral part of the BSG community, where she has witnessed and contributed to its growth. Monica holds a BA Honors Degree in Psychology from Tufts University, Massachusetts, and a MA Honors Degree in Early Childhood Education & Special Educational Needs with Teacher Credentials from New York University. Throughout her career, Monica has worked in various educational settings, both local and international, including schools in the U.S., Guangzhou, and Taiwan SAR.Her university experiences and travels have fueled her passion for learning about different cultures and languages. Apart from her professional pursuits, Monica enjoys spending quality time with her family and has a deep love for reading.
Monica's association with BSG began when her son joined the Pre-Nursery program soon after his birth. Since then, she has been deeply committed to the school as both a parent and a staff member. The continuous process of teaching and learning has been a significant highlight for her, and it has remained a constant theme throughout her years at BSG.
Monica has taken on various roles within the school, including Pre-Nursery Leader, Learning Support, and the Secondary Psychology Department. More recently, she has been actively involved in initiatives focused on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, as well as Wellbeing programs. Currently, Monica serves as the Assistant Head of Safeguarding at BSG, working closely with a team of Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students is a top priority. Monica firmly believes that change is not only inevitable but also crucial in fostering resilience and equipping students with the necessary tools to thrive in today's global and dynamic world.
