Matt is a passionate educator who has been at BSG since 2017. During his time here, he has provided students with excellent teaching and learning across different year groups including Year 3, Year 4, and Year 5. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Music Technology) and a Bachelor of Law Degree and a GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) from the UK but developed a passion for teaching through his experience of teaching EAL after studying for his CELTA qualification. From this, Matt continued with his professional development, successfully completing his PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) from Sunderland University.
Matt is committed to ensuring all students receive excellent teaching and learning in a safe and friendly environment, where students develop not only their academic skills, but also their social skills and core values to enable them to become confident well-rounded individuals with a love of learning.
For the past 7 years, Matt has been living in Guangzhou with his wife, and has also started a family here with the arrival of his first daughter, Luna, born in August 2023. Matt has a passion for the outdoors, hiking and mountain biking, and spending time with family in the countryside. Matt is also a keen sportsman and is part of a local Ice Hockey Team here in Guangzhou, which engages many nationalities and provides the opportunity for collaboration with the wider community.
