Leanna Roberts

Science Teacher
Leanna-Roberts

Last year, Leanna relocated to China with her family, including her husband Gareth Roberts, who is an Assistant Head in Secondary, and their two children, who are now transitioning into Years 3 and 5. Along with their 11-year-old dog, they embarked on this exciting adventure together. Leanna has been delighted to see her family thrive at BSG, and she is truly excited to join this exceptional community.

Leanna holds a degree in Biomedical Science from Portsmouth University and a Master’s degree in Haematology from Westminster University. Her academic background led her to a career as a Biomedical Scientist within the UK National Health Service. After three years in the NHS, she transitioned to the private sector as a Diagnostics Account Manager, spending nearly a decade specializing in High Performance Liquid Chromatography, quality control, tender submissions, and contract management. It was during this time that Leanna discovered her passion for training, which ultimately inspired her to retrain as a teacher in the UK.

Leanna has taught in both selective and non-selective schools in the UK, where her diverse experiences have been invaluable in supporting and guiding students interested in pursuing careers in the medical field. She is dedicated to increasing the science capital of all her students, making science accessible and engaging for everyone.

Outside the classroom, Leanna enjoys exploring Guangzhou and spending quality time with her family, who particularly love visiting water parks!
