The British School of Guangzhou is widely considered the most academic international school in Guangzhou. We have a long track record of achieving outstanding results and our students have gone on to attend the best universities in the world.
Because we have been in Guangzhou since 2005, we’ve had students join us in Early Years and stay with us through graduation. In fact, some of our highest achieving students in the history of the school have been those who were with us the longest.
As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, we begin writing next chapter in the story of BSG. Despite some new faces in our school, our commitment to academic excellence has never been stronger.
At the core of any highly academic school are the leaders who set the benchmarks for success. We are delighted our new principal, Tim Richardson, will arrive in Guangzhou this month and bring his wealth of expertice to our school. Throughout his 30-year career in education, Tim has consistently raised his schools’ academic standards to new levels. He, along with our new Head of Secondary, Kerry Millar and our new Head of Primary, Cam Maunder, will enthuse our students to achieve their absolute best.
Of course, great schools are made up of great teachers, which is why we have recruited the world's best and will continue providing them with training from world-leading institutions to give them outstanding professional development opportunities. We are so excited about the academic team we have assembled in BSG. This group of inspired teachers are experts at working collaboratively to provide the best education to our students, and most of all, they love what they are doing.
Tim, Kerry, Cam and our outstanding teachers will not be alone. By being part of Nord Anglia, they will be supported by a global Education Team in Oxford, UK that drives success in academics, quality assurance, accreditation and safeguarding across our schools. They will also have the assistance of some of the world's leading education experts, our Education Advisory Board, who offer valuable guidance on our programmes, curricula, and teaching and learning.
We are so excited for the upcoming academic year and the future of The British School of Guangzhou. Most importantly, we are thrilled to provide our students with everything they need for success – whatever they choose to be or do in life.
