Vivian graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in Primary Teaching from the University of Canberra, Australia. With eight years of Primary school teaching experience in Australia, she believes that she has grown into a highly competent educator, confidently planning and delivering well-structured, differentiated teaching programmes catering for individual learning needs. In her teaching career, Vivian has acquired a wide range of well-developed professional knowledge and teaching skills. She has taught in classrooms from kindergarten to Year 6 in Canberra, Australia, including students from the Learning Support Unit and Gifted and Talented classes, where she adjusts her pedagogy to address a particularly large range of students’ abilities. Vivian joined BSB in 2021 and is committed to giving children positive, rewarding experiences in their early years of schooling. These positive moments will set children up to be life-long learners. She has the capabilities to motivate, excite and stimulate the students in her care in a developmentally appropriate and safe environment. Vivian is passionate about gardening and exploring nature. Making compost with kitchen waste, adding healthy soil to gardens and plant pots, growing organic vegetables and herbs all year round, giving them to my neighbours, colleagues and friends, sharing ideas about sustainability; thinking how similar these are to teaching and looking after children always make her so happy. Walking about in natural environments and appreciating their beauty are her other hobbies. They help with maintaining a positive mindset and nurturing her hope for the world. Vivan is married with a young son who also attends BSB Shunyi.
