Stephen was born and raised in Kenya for the better part of my life. He attended Moi University and graduated with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Education Science degree (Mathematics major and Physics minor). He briefly taught the national curriculum before resorting to join international teaching platform, majorly teaching Mathematics and Physics as well as engaging actively in pastoral roles and other cocurricular activities. Stephen has had opportunity to teach various international curricula but have predominantly delivered International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum teaching IB Mathematics Higher Level and Standard Level and IB Physics Higher Level and Standard Level. Currently He is an IB Mathematics Examiner, CIE mathematics subject specialist (Examiner) and Pearson Assessment associate of Physics. He is super excited to contribute these skills, competencies and experiences to shape the dreams of students at The British School of Beijing, Shunyi starting in August 2019. In his teaching, Stephen motivates the learners to actively examine and extend their thinking, shape a conversational environment in which students share and construct their own knowledge. Stephen designs instructions that enable students to learn by doing, apply technology to improve teaching and learning and apply appropriate differentiation techniques. He implements EAL strategies to ensure all his students across the ability spectrum access the curriculum and make learning process an enjoyable venture. Stephen, his wife Annet and children, Felix and Sylviah like travelling and watching movies together. Moreover, he likes scientific explorations and community and service.
