BA, MSc, PGCE
Hailing from the UK, Daniel brings over 16 years of experience to our classrooms, having taught in England, China, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam. His dual background in English (BA from Nottingham Trent University) and Computer Science with Software Engineering (MSc from Wrexham University) reflects a passion for both the humanities and technology. He has also completed his PGCE at Northampton University.
Daniel is an experienced educator with vast knowledge of the IGCSE, IB MYP, and IBDP programs, having successfully taught English, Computer Science, TOK/EE/CAS, and Digital Design. His leadership roles as IGCSE Coordinator and TOK & CAS Coordinator allowed him to develop alongside his students, some of whom have achieved "Best in China" awards at IGCSE and gone on to prestigious Ivy League or Oxbridge universities.
Daniel's dedication to learning extends beyond the curriculum. He has led successful co-curricular activities including Debate Club, TV and Newspaper Projects as well as several excursions or IGCSE camps across China. In the classroom, Daniel fosters open discussion and encourages students to explore diverse perspectives (including their own) within texts and contexts. This creates an environment where learning becomes a dynamic, collaborative process. Aligning with this, Daniel has developed an online presence as ‘Revise The Write Way’ as a means of creating and distributing resources for other teachers and students to benefit from. Daniel is looking forward to being able to continue his journey as an educator, sharing his knowledge and experience, at BSB Shunyi.
Beyond the classroom, Daniel has a passion for creative problem-solving which led to his interest in coding, app and web development. Previously, he has also authored a book and enjoys engaging with a wide range of the arts as an opportunity to hone his own creative abilities. Equally, he has a passion for board games that allows him to enjoy quality screen-free time with his family.
