Inspired by TEDxBSB Shunyi Youth 2025

The second edition of the TEDxBSB Shunyi Youth brought together 39 talks and performances from five schools at BSB Shunyi on 10^th January,2025. It was a resounding success as our talented students stand on stage, courageously telling their personal stories and expressing their opinions in front of the audience, while the event is live-streamed to the wider community. We're proud of you all.

Themed "Unity and Belonging," the event explored the powerful ways in which individuals with different backgrounds can come together to create a sense of connection and shared purpose. Through inspiring talks, personal stories, artistic performances, and innovative ideas, our speakers delved into how fostering unity and cultivating belonging in our schools, neighbourhoods, and society leads to stronger, more resilient communities. This event aims to spark meaningful conversations and encourage youth to reflect on their role in creating environments where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.

Gabriella Year 11

Participating in the TEDx BSB Shunyi Youth event was a remarkable and enriching experience. Preparing for the event itself required a lot of teamwork, time, and trust, and I was able to learn so much in the world of choreography. Watching other speakers also deepened my understanding of belonging, as each person brought something different, something unique to themselves to the event. As dancers, my friends and I stepped onto the stage not just to perform but to connect with the audience in a way that words often cannot, reminding me that belonging isn’t always about what you say but rather it’s about how you make others feel. 

Keira Year 8

Giving a TEDx speech was an inspirational and wonderful experience to be a part of. It really helped me improve my public speaking skills as well as the way I communicated to others. It showed me a vast variety of different perspectives and ideas, which was a very positive experience to go through. All in all, i enjoyed it very much and i look forward to the future of TEDx Youth at BSB. 

Maximilian Year 8

From the TEDx BSB Shunyi Youth event, I have been able to learn, how to engagingly deliver a personal story of mine, which captivates the audience’s attention. The major thing that I was able to learn, is on to keep calm while delivering/performing something to a large number of audience members. This TEDx BSB Shunyi Youth event, has definitely taken the fear of public speaking away from me, as well as the workshops on preparation day have.

The TEDx event here at BSB taught me so many different things from so many different people. Not only was this an amazing opportunity to get to know more international students from all continents, but I got to learn their perspectives and their lives here in China. I even met some friends and got the opportunity to present myself; my story. I absolutely loved attending this event and am extremely grateful that the school decided to host its very own TEDx BSB Shunyi.
