Outstanding teachers make outstanding schools, which is why our educators are the best in the world. As part of Nord Anglia Education’s family of more than 80 schools in 30+ countries, our teachers never stop learning through our world-class professional development programme. They are held to the highest global standards, with ongoing reviews, assessments, and school visits to ensure BSB performs at the highest standard. Our school continues to be exceptional, thanks to this monitoring.

This past week, we are honoured to welcome Dr. Terry Creissen Regional Managing Director, NAE China International Schools, and some of our principals from NAE China International Schools to our campus. They observed our learning environment and the general atmosphere across the school. Following their visit, they provided feedback to both our school and the regional team. The purpose of the visit is to share good practices, celebrate innovation, and highlight great examples, as well as to address areas needing improvement.

Our Principal Jayne Needham said,

“To be a part of Nord Anglia Education is such a privilege.  The NAE China International Schools' principals came together on our campus this week to visit lessons, talk to our teachers and students and to give us support and feedback. We are a team who help each other to ensure the very highest quality of learning and teaching in all of our schools."

Let’s hear from some of the principals:

Diane Vaughan, Principal of NAIS Pudong said,

"I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Shunyi school.  Early Years students were very friendly and confident in their interactions with me and it was a delight visiting their classrooms. Both primary and secondary schools showed clear vision and purpose in their teaching and learning approach with students in both schools being engaged and showing clear enjoyment in their lessons.  A wonderful day spent with students and teachers engaging in excellent conversations with all."

Andrew Lancaster, Principal of British International School of Shanghai Puxi said,

"In all interactions with and between students and staff, there is a warm, respectful, authentic and welcoming approach felt at BSB Shunyi encourages an ethos of inclusion and belonging.  This is reflected in the environment through the celebration of pupil learning. For example, Year 3 co-created expectations of themselves and each other. All lessons showed purpose, pace and clear learning objectives. In the Primary phase, feedback and marking is consistent and meaningful across the school, and there is discussion on how this can be enhanced further to ensure that this is actioned by learners. This demonstrates the reflective nature of middle leaders. "

Matthew Shepherd, Principal of The British School of Nanjing said,

"This is a school with such a clear, unified approach to learning. That consistency really allows students to grow and thrive as they transition from primary to secondary, from one class to the next, and across each subject. It’s a place that truly understands its purpose—to provide each student, no matter their background or starting point, with the best possible outcomes for their future. It was a pleasure to listen to students outlining their ambitions and sharing what they have learnt in their time at such a great school."
