The BSB Journal 2023-2024 Issue 1

Welcome to Term 1!

The Young Journalists Club has re-grouped for the 2023-2024 academic year ready for Term 1. We are made up of students from Years 5 and 6. Our aim is to report on events and points of interest within the school community.

We were asked to explain why we chose Young Journalist Club as our Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) and what skills and qualities we could bring to the team.

• Evren explained that he was curious to experience what it was like to be a journalist, whilst Jin was keen to discuss work in a team.
• Erin said that she joined because she likes speech and enjoys talking with others whilst Emily wanted to promote change.
• Wenke and James both added that they like to ask questions and Chihiro likes to see the big picture.

In terms of what we can bring to the CCA

• Austin said that he can classify and organize information.
• Alistair said he able to check and edit texts.
• Jihyo said he will contribute many ideas to the team.
• Alexandra stated that she is curious and creative and loves to talk so approaching people would be natural for her.
• Ian is interested in finding out about the people who run the school.
• Tashvi and Avani are focused on the approaches to working with others.
• Avani stated that she will bring ‘kindness.’
• Adam is open-minded and willing to assist wherever necessary to bring out the news that matters!

As you can tell, we are all curious and finding out about issues that matter to you - the students. We want to hear your opinions about different things so please say hello if you see us around!
