Nursery has been exploring the natural world of autumn and all its seasonal changes. We used a range of materials to develop our maths skills in ABAB patterns. The children are learning that patterns are a series of repeating objects such as shapes, colours, lines, etc. We used natural materials to complete and make new patterns.
In Phonics, we have been exploring environmental sounds, which was excellent for this unit as we explored the sounds we hear in the autumn and the children used percussion instruments to make those sounds.
We extended our exploration by taking a learning walk to the Liangma River. The children were excited and used their vocabulary learned in the classroom to talk about the things they saw, felt, and heard.
